Byre external view

The Byre was the term for the building where the cattle were kept but they would have to have been very athletic animals as this Byre is on three floors and comfortably sleeps a family of five. The ground floor has an entrance hall, shower room and bedroom with a single bed and a set of bunk beds. The lounge/kitchen/dining area is on the first floor. There is a large attic style double bedroom on the second floor, with provision for a single "Z bed". This cottage has full oil fired central heating but no wood burning stove or open fire. 

The lounge is tastefully furnished and the kitchen/dining area has everything you would need for a self catering break. (The local pubs do wonderful food and Wilf's Cafe in the village offers indulgent breakfasts, so you don't have to cook. Lucy's of Ambleside will even take your order and deliver great food to your door!)

There is a lawned area outside the cottage with a outside dining table and chairs with wonderful views across the fells towards The Langdales and Crinkly Crags. We also provide a barbeque for visitors to use

The large main bedroom at the top of the cottage has space for a young child in either a cot or Z-bed (which we can supply)

The attic style master bedroom is on the second floor with the other bedroom on the ground floor offering a single and 2 full size single bunks

As with each of the cottages parking is right outside the door and we have plenty of space if guests arrive in 2 cars.

Unfortunately the Byre does not offer an enclosed garden for pets although they are very welcome. The footpath to Brunt Knott Fell passes the cottage door.
